Joe Kines - The second half we came back, got them three and out. The offense did a great job and kept the ball and it was a good day.

And Peprah getting the interception. That's going to give you a boost too.

That was a shot in the arm. We scored defensively and scored on the kicking game. The momentum began to shift and you could just feel it on the sidelines. The guys were really beginning to get their heads up.

What did you change in terms of your blitzes (to defend SFU QB Robbie Banks)?

I'll tell you, in the shotgun with a three step drop, it's almost humanly impossible to stop him. They were only sacked 19 times, I think, in the entire season. We had one sack. But objective was to get pressure on him and not let him sit back there forever. We had several quartback knockdowns, especially in the second half. We also had some three and outs in the second half that were big. All we did at halftime, is just talk about what had been successful the first half. (Focusing on) that and letting the bad things go. Then we came back out and played a pretty good second half.

You guys are going to see that type of attack again this season. How much is (today's game) going to help you down the road?

Again, you've got to play to get better. You can practice and practice and practice ... and then can actually start going backward.

Talk about the play of Antwan Odom.

Antwan Odom has a lot of quarterback pressures. He had a sack and caused a fumble. He did well. I thought Peprah did a great job with the touchdown. Ramzee Robinson played really good. He came in in some 5 DB situations and did good. Freddie Roach got that fumble on the fourth down. That stopped the drive. So some guys made some big plays through the day.

You've been through all this before. How do you think the head coach handled himself his first time out?

Right. He did great. He did great.

So it wasn't a case of you having to punch buttons schemewise so much, as it was players adjusting to the flow of the game?

As the second quarter started to wear, we started to get our hands on it. Again, even if you practice against no huddle on the practice field, you try to pick the tempo up, it doesn't match what it's like when they really get in the huddle and start making substitutions. Trying to match personel situations? That's hard to do until you're in a game.
