Alabama Pounds Out A 17-3 Victory
Justin Smiley (#78 Jr. LG, 6-4 293 lbs. Ellabell, GA - Southeast Bulloch)

These comments came following the Southern Mississippi game as Justin Smiley answered questions from the press pool ...
Justin Smiley – Most of the teams we’re going to play, they’re going to line up and try to hold their gaps. We beat Tennessee last year doing that, running the ball. Ole Miss, we definitely did that to last year. So we can definitely get back to it. We just have to take it upon ourselves to handle our business and we’ll be fine.
Press Pool – You guys ran a whole lot. Do you like that? Do you like running the ball like that?
Oh yeah. We loved it. It was nice to get back to the football we played last year. Coming off the ball, playing some power, pulling the guards, getting out in front of people. It was really nice because no one likes to sit back and pass it all the time. Running is what our offensive line is good at, and it was nice to get back to it.
Was there a sense of frustration building over the last couple of week from about what the critics had to say? Was there a sense of satisfaction about having a game like this?
Not really. We just knew that we were real close to scoring three more touchdowns out there today if a couple guys had gotten a block … me included on a couple of plays. That’s the thing we’ve got to get better at is executing every play. If we do that it’s going to be an offensive explosion. I just hope we can do that soon because we’ve got some big games coming up.
