These comments came following the 2003 LSU game as Tyrone Prothro answered questions from the press pool ...

Tyrone Prothro … At times, we executed well. But then at other times it wasn’t right.

Press Pool … You had some good runs tonight on punt returns to put the ball in the position to score. But then you guys couldn’t get anywhere.

When the ball came to me, I was just trying to make a play. They kept kicking it to me so I just kept on trying to make plays.

Do you know how big the game is next week?

I’ve been around for a while so I’ve watching it over the years. The Auburn game is going to be big for us. We just basically have go out and practice as hard as we can.

(question inaudible-kickoff returns)

The first half, they had the wind at their back so when they kicked it off; it kept going over my head. But the second half, they were kicking against the wind, so I had the chance to return the ball and make something happen. When I got it, that’s what I did.

What about that long pass and run there in the second half?

I just ran a little route crossing the middle. Brodie ended up having to scramble, so I just ran back and put myself in position to catch the ball.

Obviously, a tough season for you. In high school, you were used to winning all the time. Talk about that.

I knew it was going to be tougher that it was in high school. It’s not that everyone doesn’t want to win, but as long as you’re playing as hard as you can good things are going to happen to you. We just have to keep coming out and working harder.

Even though you had a decent game, it’s hard to feel good about it.

It feels good just to know that you made plays. But it would feel a whole lot better if it would have come with a win.
