Game Over ... Hogs Rally Over Tide 31-34 In 2 OT

Anthony Bryant (#97 Sr. LDT, 6-3 336 lbs. Newbern, AL - Sunshine High)

These comments came following the Arkansas game as Anthony Bryant answered questions from members of the press pool ...
Press Pool – Some of the young guys had to play a lot of snaps today, Dominick (Lee #96) and Kyle (Tatum #85). How did they do today?

Anthony Bryant - They stepped in and played a good role in our defensive line. They did a great job, and I have to commend them for that.

Can you talk a little bit about the rotation of players at your position tonight and what you saw from it?

Kyle and Dominick came in a played good. They controlled their gap. Even though they’re young (both freshmen) but they didn’t get pushed around or nothing. They played ball and weren’t intimidated by those older guys that were blocking them. They came in and did a great job.

Arkansas and Oklahoma … can you compare the two?

Ummm … Arkansas is a little more smash mouth … more of a power team running the ball. But they are similar.

Can you talk about Arkansas’s offensive line? They had some great big guys and kept sending Cobbs after you. Did that kind of wear on you?

No, not really. We knew what was coming. They were rotating guys early. We knew it was coming. Cobbs did a great job running the ball, and their line did a great job blocking. I commend them for that.

When they were down 31-10, they opened up the field a little bit and started throwing different routes. And then they brought #9 (QB Matt Jones) back in. Was that an adjustment that might have hurt you?

We knew that #10 (QB Ryan Sorahan) had a good arm. So we knew he was going to come in and throw the ball. He came in made some throws. They made some great catches too. He came in and did what he was supposed to do.

How are you feeling?

I’m down real bad, but we’re got to get over it get ready for Georgia this week.

How do you get over this?

Work hard next week. Just stay focused and be positive about everything.

What was the first thing you heard in the locker room from the coaches?

Nothing but “Keep your head up. There are eight more games in the season, so keep fighting and become closer as a team.”

What do expect next week?

We’re going to work hard all week long and go to Athens and put up another great fight. Hopefully, we’ll come out with the win next week.
