Prepare your hummingbird feeders and purple martin houses. Scouts will soon be looking for norishment and nesting. For hummingbird feeders, be sure and only put out small amounts of nectar at first! Refill with fresh nectar often.

Be on the lookout for migrating birds ... like Warblers, Indigo Buntings and the Rose-Breasted Grosbeak. They'll need a safe place to rest as they make their journey.

Begin cleaning bird feeders and birdbaths. For best results, use a weak bleach solution. Don't forget to keep those birdbaths full of fresh water.

Clean out existing nest boxes and birdhouses, put up new ones. Try an owl or a bat box foradded protection against insects and rodents.

Prepare ground for this year’s garden. Late Feb-early March is the prime time of year for pruning many landscape trees and plants. DO NOT prune Azaleas except to remove dead wood. DO NOT top your Crepe Myrtles ... see some pictures of the good and bad. Mid-April is the recommended planting time for annuals and tender perennials. Sow seeds indoors for an early start.
