The wild vine is called Sensitive Brier for good reason. It's leaves close shut when the plant is touched or jostled. The pink-purple blooms and fan-like leaves make Sensitive Brier look like a miniature Mimosa Tree. This brier, or briar, grows on the ground in dry woods, pinelands and fields through September.
