Another wildflower in shrub form. Alabama croton is one of the rarest shrubs in the United States, found in only two Alabama river valleys ... along the Black Warrior and Cahaba Rivers. Grows to about 5-9 feet tall forming dense thickets. The stems and leaves have silvery scales with multiple subtle yellow blooms. Stops blooming in early Spring. Turns orange in Fall.
