Home Games 2008 front page The Tide Has Turned; These are the post game comments from Terrence Cody following the Auburn game … Press Pool ... How about that fullback play you were in on? Terrence Cody ... (laughing) Oh it was a big play, a big play. We ran that against Ole Miss. But this week, I came off the ball and no one wanted to run into me so everyone ran the other way (chuckles again). But it was a big play. How did you feel your presence there affected the defense? The defense really feeds off me. If I'm doing good, then the whole defense is going to do good. With me in the middle, we have to stop the run. I mean, we just played good. How many blockers were you taking on this game? Most of the time it was two. They double-teamed me most of the time, but sometimes they tried to single block me when the ball was going the other way. How would you say the defense played as a whole? I'd say we played ... I'd give us a "B", maybe "B-" or maybe "B+". You got your first sack tonight. (laughs) It was big. It was exciting. I hate that it was only a half a sack, but it was still a sack. Talk about the fumble. The fumble ... I watched the snap and I saw the quarterback drop it. So I was thinking should I scoop it or should I just fall on it? But I did what all D-linemen do and just fell on the ball (laughs). How does the shutout feel? It was big. It was big. To shut someone out in the SEC is real hard to do. That's a big game. That really proves to the world how good we are if we come out and play our game. You're only a junior, but what's it mean for the seniors to finally get this win? Aww, I mean it was real big for the seniors. They've lost ever since they've been here. Some have been here 5 years, some have been here 4 years. Before the game, we all were like "We're going out there to play for the seniors and their last game at Bryant-Denny." We went out there and tried to do what we had to do. We busted out behinds and left it all out there on the field, and it was big. Was this game what you expected? Were you surprised at what happened? I was speechless after the game. We beat Auburn, our biggest rival. We shut them out and I was speechless because it's hard to shut someone out in the SEC. Was the adrenaline going really hard, or was it just normal? At first it felt normal until we really started getting the flow and the game started progressing. That's when we got more intense and just came out there and buried them. Can you talk about your experience in your first Auburn game? Aw, I mean it was big. That's the loudest I've ever heard the stadium. It was real loud. I couldn't hear some of the plays. I couldn't hear Rolando (McClain) talking some of the time. It was hard Was it what you expected? (laughs) It was what I expected. I expected it to be crazy, with fans jumping out of the stadium and throwing stuff. But it was crazy. It was real loud. When are they going to give you the rock? (laughs) I don't know. Talk about playing offense. How did you feel physically tonight? Oh, I felt good. Since my games back, they've been waiting to put me in the backfield since I was coming off an injury and stuff. So Coach Saban was dancing in the locker room? Naw, he wasn't dancing in the locker room. He was just excited and stuff, but he wasn't dancing. You've got Florida next ... a home state school ... How does it feel and what are you expecting to see? Florida's a real good team and it feels good to go play a team from back home. I expected them to do good and us to do good. We'll just see who the better team is at the end of the game.
