This post game transcript is the comments of Rashad Johnson following the Tulane game :

Press Pool … Rashad, is this one of those kinds of wins that you’ll take because it counts, but you’re not happy with the way you did it?

Rashad Johnson … A win is a win. Sometimes you get it in a way that you didn’t want to get it. But as long as you get the “W” in the win column that’s all that matters. We’ve got another week to fix it … five more days to work on it and get it right before next Saturday when we play.

Some people say you guys were complacent after that win against Clemson. Did you feel like you guys were like that? What was happening?

Johnson ... There was a couple of days in practice where it maybe felt a little that way, that guys were getting complacent. For the most part, we came out in warm ups and it wasn’t a great warm-up. But once we came out as a defense on the field I think we played pretty well. I think we made some mistakes. We got a couple of personal fouls that gave 1st downs and a couple of penalties on 3rd and long that made it 3rd and short. They made one big play in the 2nd quarter that gave them a shot at a field goal, but we did a good job of keeping them out of the endzone. So I don’t think we were complacent. I just think we made some mistakes and they are things we can work on.

(about making the defensive calls and adjustments) Does it affect you at all trying to make sure everyone is where they’re supposed to be? Does that affect where you are sometimes?

I don’t think so because in practice I do the same thing. I try to be a leader out there on defense. And I think the coaches expect me to be a leader because I know basically what a lot of guys do with the linebackers and the secondary. The front line I don’t know as much what they do. But I know all the signals, so when a play comes in I give it to the DBs who may not know the signals. So I don’t think it affects me at all because that’s how it goes on in practice. In practice, I see things that happen and I yell over there to let them know they may not be in the right spot. It’s just the way we practice and guys depend on me to do that do so I’m going to take that responsibility.

How bad is it going to hurt if you guys ever do give up a touchdown?

(laughs) It’ll probably hurt. You don’t ever want to give up a touchdown. Our goal is to hold our opponent to 13 points and I think we did a good job of that the first two weeks. We’re just going to keep fighting. I’m pretty sure that sooner or later somebody is going to make a play and actually get in the endzone. If they do, we just have to focus on the next play and let it go.

Toward the end of the game, you guys had like four safeties on the field at points. Is that something new?

It was just a late game adjustment. It was the end of the game and probably two minutes to go. It was just the offense. We figured they were going to come out in and throw it around the field. So we put some more safeties in to help on the deeper passes and things like that, but they decided to go ahead and run the ball and run the clock out.
