Tide Beats Cats 52-0 ... Croyle Tears
ACL
Brodie Croyle (#12
QB, Jr. 6-3 205 lbs. 2VL Rainbow City, Westbrook Christian High School)

These comments came following the 2004 Western Carolina game as Brodie Croyle answered questions from the press pool ...
Press pool ... Brodie, can you talk about what happened on that play?
I was just going to the sideline and I went to plant and my knee went out.
So it wasn't contact?
No.
Same one as high school?
Different one.
What did the doctors tell you?
Tore my ACL. Looks like I'm going to have surgery on Tuesday.
Talk about the frustration of just getting over an injury last season, and now having another one this season.
You know ... this isn't how I imagined it going. But it happened. I've been through it before and I'm just going to have to start all over again.
Did you know at the moment you planted that something was wrong?
I knew. I was laying on the ground telling them that I tore my ACL. It's a sick feeling.
Brodie, did y'all have any discussions at halftime about if you came back in how long you'd be in?
No. That was probably going to be my last drive if we had scored. But you can't play the game scared. You still have to go out there and do your job and work. I needed a couple more drives. It was just unfortunate that it happened.
Did you really need a couple more drives?
Yeah. This has nothing to do with coaches taking me out ... or anything like that. We had put up some points, but we hadn't looked great in the first half. The first group needed a little more work before we head into Arkansas. It was just a freak thing.
You got to see Marc some when you came back out. Can you talk about his performance?
I wasn't out there when he was playing. By the time I got back out there Spencer (Pennington) was in. But both those guys are very capable and from what I heard, Marc played good. They can take this team where we need to go.
As far as you know, will Dr. Andrews to the surgery?
As far as I know.
Brodie, after you have surgery, will you come back and help Marc and the receivers?
That's going to be the only thing I can do, so anything I can do to help the team.
