Shaud Williams recorded his first 100 yd. rushing effort with Alabama
Shaud Williams (#21 Jr. A-Back, 5-8, 189 lbs. Andrews, TX - Texas Tech)
You can’t replace an Ahmaad Galloway. You can’t replace his leadership, and you can’t replace his motivation. If he is lost for the season, then we've got some big shoes to fill. But I think the coaches feel confident enough in us that we can get the job done.
It seemed like the running game was really eating up the clock, and gave you good ball control.
The guys up front did a great job. When those guys get rolling, it’s easy to pick up yards on every carry. We just got in that zone and the line wanted to keep pounding at them, so that’s what we did.
What play was working well for you tonight? Particularly in the first half … that long run you had.
That was a power. I had a pulling guard. I just sat on his hip. He made a good block and I cut off his block and that was that.
The yards looked tougher in the second half. Is that because ya’ll were getting more predictable?
I don’t know what it was. That might be it. But every time you run the ball, it’s not going to be a 15-yarder. I think they made some adjustments at half-time, and came back and adjusted to what we were doing.
What did you think about Croyle when he first came in?
Oh, he was real poised in the huddle. He sounded confident, and knew what he was doing. I have all the confidence in the world in Brodie. He came in the huddle, took charge and led the offense like a quarterback’s supposed to.
