H-Back Dre Fulgham broke a tackle and scored on a long pass play
These comments came during post game media interviews ...
Reporter-Talk about how well preparation went this week for the offense.
Fulgham-Yeah, offensively it was one of the best weeks we've had. Going back to two weeks ago against Georgia we were limited in our running and passing, but we still had a chance to win the game. We didn't want to get in that situation today. We wanted to start and finish and play well, running and passing. And I think we did that.
Talk about your performance. COming into the game you had, I think, three catches. But when you had the touchdown catch, it was your third catch of the day. Are you becoming more of a go-to guy, someone who can take the pressure off of Sam?
I think so. Most of my catches have been for first downs, or 20 yards and beyond. We're all just out there playing hard, running nice routes and trying to get open.
Tell me a little about the touchdown. What happened and what were your thoughts?
Pre-snap I was smiling because the cornerback was playing inside and I ran a corner route. I broke it off at maybe 10 yards to make my angle big. I saw the ball and it hung up forever, so I had to focus a little bit harder. When it hit my hands, I refused to go down or let him tackle me. You know, I'm big and strong and I wanted to use that to my advantage.
How hard is it to catch the ball in that situation? Because that is the most important thing.
Well, I have big hands. So when I feel it hit my hands, I'm going to squeeze it. I'm gonna squeeze it tight, and try to burst it! (laughs) It's just a good feeling though.
Dre, what does this do for your team going into the Tennessee weekend?
This win right here ... it's a big-time win against Ole Miss. They're coming off a spectacular win against Florida and they beat Arkansas State pretty impressively. For us to win over them convincingly, it takes that bad taste out of our mouths that we had after the Georgia game.
