Kenny King - Alabama football

Kenny King (#55 Sr. DT, 6-3 280 lbs. Daphne, AL - Daphne High School)

I think we came out and did pretty good. I thought we came out at the beginning and were a little sluggish. But we got out tempo going and took care of them.

Is this where, the last game and a half, where you guys wanted to be on defense at the beginning of the season. It seems like you’re really focused.

Yeah … but you know, we still have stuff to work on. We go in, day in day out, looking at the games and what we did wrong and try to grow from it.

You’ve been getting more pressure on the quarterback the past two games. What’s been the difference?

Just doing more schemes. We’ve been running a lot of base instead of running a lot of games or whatever. So we’ve really just started getting to the quarterback more by just playing base.

After what happened in the fourth quarter against Oklahoma, were you wanting to come out here today and make a statement?

Yeah, we all wanted to come out and make a statement. Everyone was talking about how “Ya’ll almost won, ya’ll almost won.” You know, almost is not good enough for us. We wanted to come back. We played an opponent that was really good, and coming out of Oklahoma we just wanted to show that we are a good team, and we are somebody special.
