Alonzo Ephraim (#58 Sen. C, 6-2 303 lbs. Birmingham, AL - Wenonah High School)

These comments came during post game media interviews ...

How are you feeling?

A little beat up (laughs). They were a physical team, very physical. Mississippi State came nad played extremely hard.

Was it surprising well they played today? They've kind of had some rough spots this year.

Oh no, we are never surprised. They are always tough. I think Mississippi State comes out and plays hard against anyone they play against. But basically, playing against us they play even harder. It's like a rivalry. When we play them every year, they get up for the game and we know it.

Can you comment on the altercation that took place on the sideline when Shaud got kind of hit out of bounds?

Yeah, it was a late hit. There was a little riff-raff going on, but you know, that's football. A little pushing on the sideline and stuff. No harm done. After the game was over, we talked to the same guys and it was like "Good job" and "Ya'll are real good" and stuff. You know, we just talked. So it wasn't any hard feelings or anythings like that.

How do you do that? How do you play with such ferocity during the game, and then put it aside and come together when it's over?

It's all part of being a football player. You have to know when to turn it on and when to turn it off. I guarantee you my attitude in here and the way I talk in here is nothing like how I am on the field. (laughs) So you have to know when to do it.
