Wesley Britt (#70 So. QT, 6-8 312 lbs. Cullman, AL - Cullman High School)

Reporter - Does this leave a bad taste in your mouth knowing that you got so close to a huge upset but couldn’t hang on?

Britt - I don’t believe it would have been an upset, first of all. I believe we can stack up to any team in the nation, and we can go play with any team in the nation. Georgia was good, and it definitely leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I know it does in the rest of my teammates’ also. I go out on the field to win. I ready right now to go back out there and do something to win. I probably go home and play checkers with my brother just so I can beat him. (laughs)

Did you feel like when Charlie came up with the interception and ran it back that ya’ll had finally gotten over the hump and would pull the game out?

There was never a point in the game that I didn’t think we were gong to pull it out. I believed we were going to win the game the whole time I was in there. That’s the way I am with everything I do. I hate losing, and I do anything it takes not to lose. When Charlie did that, it was a great play by a great athlete. I really thought we were going to win the game. But I also knew we were going to have to get first downs. We didn’t do that, and we have to work on it.

Does it give you some confidence knowing that you are just a few plays away from being 6-0?

We do know that, and we know we’ve made mistakes. We’ve got to go in there with the focus to fix that. We’re making some of the same mistakes over and over. We have to eliminate those mistakes. Pre-snap penalties are uncalled for by any team. This point in the season, we got too good of players to make those kinds of penalties
