Kindal Moorehead (#54 Sr. DE 6-4 304 lbs. Memphis, TN - Memphis High School)

Senior Defensive End Kindal Moorehead has a bright future ahead of him.

These comments came during post game media interviews ...

They were able to score some big plays on you. Some of them seemed to helped by a hold or something that wasn't called.

Yeah, they did. The referees are out there and are focused on so much, they can't catch everything. We felt like on the sideline there was probably a couple of holds they could have called on us. So you can't focus on what the ref is doing. You have to go out there and play the next play.

Is it hard to put a whole season in perspective after a loss like this, knowing how much it might take away?

Well, we felt like we didn't have anything lose. We came in ready to play a good football team. This is a game we wanted real bad. It is Alabama/ Auburn. And the fact that we never beat them at home, well we really wanted to beat them

Were they doing anything to surprise you guys?

No, they didn't do anything special. At times, we would have them stopped in the backfield. But their little running back would be hiding behind his blockers and somehow come out of there. He's going to be a good back.

They spread things out a lot with five wide receivers. Did that put you a little off balance?

No, we were expecting them to do that because their running backs are nicked up a little bit. So we basically were prepared for whatever they came out with. There were times when we had the chance to make the play and didn't make it, and they got someone free.

What did you guys say as a defensive unit at halftime because the second half, you shut them out.

Well, we knew we didn't come out like we usually play football. And we knew they wasn't doing anything special except making the plays that we weren't making. We just knew we needed to calm down and come out and play our football and we'll get back in the game.

We're you guys a little over excited ... or what was the reason for your poor play in the first half?

They just made the plays they needed to make all the way down the field. If we blitzed, the one man that may be open, they hit that man.
